Alas, I didn't mention it because the article is almost impenetrably paywalled by my former employer, The Plain Dealer in Cleveland. Even I can't get at it, and I edited the story. But the critic who wrote it was Steve Szilagyi, author of the novel "Photographing Fairies," which was well received when it was first published by a major U.S. publisher and later made into a movie with Ben Kingsley for which Steve co-wrote the screenplay. In bolstering his case for Dickens, he especially praised the good representations of Scrooge on film.
