Agree that writers should write at a level their readers can understand (and also that feels right for them).

As I mentioned in another response, most successful writers tend to write at a level of at least Grade 5 (based on the numbers I've run for books I've read and often reviewed). Albom's Grade 3 level probably jumped out at me because I've seen so many with higher levels as a critic who used to get about 400 review copies a week from publishers.
