Agree that it can be a mistake to introduce it to children too early. Adolescence--somewhere around the age of 11 or 12--might be best. One challenge with that approach is: Because children tend to read "up," Huck might strike some of today's adolescents as too young for them. By then they may have developed a strong preference for books with darker or what they see as "more adult" themes. Do you have any thoughts on a good age?
