Agree that all the self-promotion is taking a toll on Medium. And I'd love to see the platform do more to rein it in: for example, by shadow-banning the shameless self-promotions and self-declared experts.

I use the "mute" button a lot, but it never seems to be quite enough. New self-promoters always seem to keep springing up to take the place of the muted, alas.
