Agree completely that what happened to Dahl should have been called out.
In a weird way I'm glad it happened because it spread awareness about what the sensitivity readers are doing, which may have been little to known to people besides those who follow American publishing. Authors will be better prepared now for what publishers may try to do to their work.
I'm just disappointed that smaller publishing issues keep getting called out instead of larger ones that hurt writers more. There's a parallel with the attacks on J.K. Rowling for her views on trans issues. Where's the outcry about the horrors LGBTQ people are facing in China and other repressive countries?
I'm not seeing a lot of perspective on some of these issues. That probably means I've been on Twitter too long, but that's a separate issue.
