A disturbing opening sequence shows the path taken by the uniform Paul receives; initially worn by a soldier gunned down in battle, then removed from the corpse, cleaned, bullet entry damage sown up, and the garment handed to him. Paul rather chillingly points out that the previous owner’s nametag is still attached.
