A shorter version of this would have been an ideal op-ed piece for any community newspaper or its website. Op-eds are generally 600-800 words, and your piece looks longer than that.

But you know how to make a persuasive argument. Some places will reprint a shorter version of what you've done for another pub IF you let them know up front that it's previously published. But it's easier to double-dip the other way around: Publish somewhere else, then repost it on Medium, which lots of people do.

Where do you live? If you live in a place that still has a viable newspaper or magazine, you could show them what you wrote for Medium and ask if you could do other things or cut or rework it for them.
