A porch talk! How can I never have gone to one of those here in my Alabama town, where everyone has a porch?

Dorothy Commins' book is messier than A. Scott Berg's biogrraphy of Max Perkins (and even that has lately come under fire for ignoring some of his less nobile projects). But I'm glad I read it and appreciate your reading this story, too.
